I am attempting to install Xubuntu 13.04, but the installer continually fail. My fan is running very fast while the live session is running and running dmesg fills my terminal with this:
whci-hcd 0000:20:00.0-1: wusbhc_rh_suspend (f753f000 [f753f000]) UNIMPLEMENTED
Clicking 'Shutdown' from the XFCE panel simply closes the graphical session and shows one of the TTY terminals filled with the aforementioned text. The installer also randomly fails at each step, saying 'ubi-partman' or 'ubi-language', etc. has failed. I use CTRL+ALT+(RSEIUB) to shut it down. 100% reproducibility. I have re-written the iso to the flash drive several times now, as well as re-downloaded it once.
My laptop is a Fujitsu Lifebook A6210.
Does anyone have any more information about this error?
EDIT:I think I know why this error is preventing installation, it's not the error itself but the fact that it is filling my disk before the installer is able to complete. I tried replacing dmesg and syslog in /var/log/ with links to /dev/null, but the intaller still fails.
EDIT: I am having the exact same problem with Lubuntu 13.04 EDIT: The live version of Xubuntu 13.04 also has the same problem.
EDIT: I have found that running
has shows that the available space on my flash drive running the live installation is being filled up at a rate of about 10MB/s. I am assuming this is the reason that the installer is failing at random steps. I have been running
echo '' > /var/log/kern.log & echo '' > /var/log/syslog && df -h
in order to clear the logs and free up space so that the installer would run.
