My Samsung 900x running Ubuntu 12.04 has a camera above the screen.

How do I access it? Turn it on/off?

I can't find any app in setting that does this.

lsusb shows:

$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 8087:07da Intel Corp.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 2232:1024

I tried installing the Cheese Webcam Booth but when I start the app the app. screen is blank and I can't take a photo...

Update - I was able to install and use Camorama - though a reboot was needed after the install before I could use the app at all. However, although the webcam does seem to be working now, one thing I still can't do is use it to take a picture (as many sites with profiles now encourage). When I try to take a pic I get a small error window with Could not create directory '~/Webcam_Pictures' I've create the directory myself, manually and set permissions to 777, e.g.

$ cd ~
$ pwd

drwxrwxrwx  2 durrantm   4096 Jun  2 09:49 Webcam_Pictures/

but no luck, still get the can't create directory message

I installed camorama but no luck. Maybe you did something else too to make it work? –  qwazix Sep 7 '13 at 20:33
