I am trying to install Ubuntu to recover any data from my computer, since Windows Vista has crashed beyond repair (When trying to repair, screen goes black after first splash screen).
Downloaded the stable 12.04-build (I am new to Ubuntu) and burned it to a CD, then booted to CD and tried to run in RAM. This is what happened:
- Pressed ESC to enter menu.
- Choose "Live"
- After a few seconds a red box w an equal-E shows in upper left corner
- Splash screen "Ubuntu 12.04" and those red/white dots appear
- 30 sec later I'm in Busybox v1.18.5 saying:
Enter help for a list of built-in commands. (iniframfs) Unable to find a media containing a live file system
I can't write a thing. Everything is frozen.
Then I turned of the power, and restarted. 2nd time I run I asked it to check the CD - same story: Total Freeze in Busybox.
3rd time I run the boot-CD I choose to install Ubuntu parallel with Windows. Same thing happens different option: Everything froze in BusyBox with same message. Can't write anything. Everything is dead.
