I'm getting errors in the standard CERN root install related to g++. I installed all of the necessary accompanying packages and installation was proceeding, but it stops with:

g++ -O2 -pipe -m64 -Wshadow -Wall -W -Woverloaded-virtual -fPIC -Iinclude    -pthread -o io/io/src/TStreamerInfo.o -c /home/chipbrock/root/io/io/src/TStreamerInfo.cxx

g++ came installed, right? Or I installed it ... I can't remember! In any case, that seems an odd problem for something so basic.
