I have installed Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit, Kernel Linux 3.2.0-43-generic, GNOME 3.4.2 on pc. Previously I was using nvidia-graphics-card, once it is broken, I am using the onboard vga, Intel G41, with Acer v173w monitor. A few hours ago I can still use 1440 x 900 resolution, but when I turn on the computer again, I can not get a resolution as before.
sitha@delphi:~$ lspci | grep -i VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) sitha@delphi:~$
When I run
xrandr I get:
sitha@delphi:~$ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA1 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm 1024x768 60.0* 800x600 60.3 56.2 848x480 60.0 640x480 59.9
I also found this while booting :
[ 474.970935] [drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 148
I've tried a variety of ways, and looking on google to solve it. This also never happened but could eventually resolve itself. I'm a newbie, what are the real issues going on? Does anyone know how to fix this?
