Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have two internal hard drives. Windows 7 is on sda. Ubuntu 13.04 and 12.10 on sdb sharing a swap file. I get a lag in booting 13.04, but it does boot. The message identifies my computer and ask for my login information. Wait about 20 seconds and 13.04 boots up. I did a boot repair and got the following report

Any suggestions on how to avoid fix this issue? Did I screw things up during installation? Any help would be appreciated. I rather not keep running into the same issue everytime I install a new version of Ubuntu.

Ubuntu 13.04 does not boot without some kind of description of my computer ending with 'tty'. Then my name asking to login. Wait 20 seconds or so and then 13.04 boots up. That is not normal. I had it between 12.04/12.10, 11.10/12.04. I always wipe out the oldest version and install the newest this way if things go badly I have a fall back. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? –  chazdg May 21 '13 at 21:01
