Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have got following problem: after login LightDM doesn't appear. Before login the user-choose screen works fine. I can see only my wallpaper. Also I can run terminal (by ctrl+alt+t) and other and programs with it.

I have installed nvidia-current-updates (I don't have got nvidia-current installed). Also tried installing gdm but after choosing it as default display manager nothing happens. I already done apt-get upgrade and apt-get update.

What do you mean login? LightDM is the program that, among other things, displays the graphical login screen. –  strugee May 21 '13 at 5:57

The image that you just linked to is of LightDM. Explain what isn't working, again? –  strugee May 21 '13 at 18:32
