Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

These are the relevant lines from my fstab:

UUID=c918752d-3a30-4355-9f40-ee3351ee7478 /mnt/data ext4 defaults 0 2
bindfs#/mnt/data /home/jan/data fuse owner=jan

After startup, mount does list something to be mounted at /home/jan/data but accessing the directory shows it empty.

Mounting manually works without problems:

sudo bindfs -u jan /mnt/data/ /home/jan/data/

My solution at the moment is using a script in /etc/init/ but I believe that bindfs should work via fstab.

The behavior is identical on 12.04 and 13.04.
