In the past couple of weeks I have tried to install Ubuntu 13.04 into a VMware virtual machine without any luck.

It locks up about half way through. Is there a compatibility issue? Can anyone help me?

It may be a corrupted iso file. Try redownloading Ubuntu and see if it works. –  Emerson Hsieh May 19 '13 at 2:07

Are you installing directly from the ISO? –  Mitch May 19 '13 at 6:01

I don't have any experience with VMware but I have 64-bit Raring working on a Windows 7 host and 32-bit Raring on a Precise host both using Virtual box so it is possible to get it working on a VM. Check the MD5 sum in case the download is corrupted and try mounting the iso file. If that does not fix it do you get any specific error messages if you do add them to the question. –  Warren Hill May 19 '13 at 12:01

I edited your question by the way asking the question in the form "does anyone else have this problem" may get the response "yes me" rather than the solution. –  Warren Hill May 19 '13 at 12:03
