After I suspend my laptop and try to log back in, a bunch of messages appear really fast (something like NOUVEU is in the message, but I can't read it all because it disappears after about 15 seconds) and it takes at least a minute for the login prompt to appear. After typing in my password and hit enter the screen goes black for another minute and then returns to the login screen. So, I have to restart my computer every time after I suspend. Any ideas how to fix this?

I went into Software & Updates to see if changing my video driver would do, and it did. I switched from using X.Org X server- Nouveau display driver from xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (open source) to NVIDIA binary Xorg driver, kernel module and VDPAU library from nvidia-310 (proprietary, tested). The downfall is the low-resolution of the boot screens, but that's acceptable. As long as the system functions work fine, it's all good. –  user149102 May 17 '13 at 17:25
