Is there any way to disable the auto exposure option in my video capturing software? I use Ubuntu 12.04 now, but tried 12.10 and 13.04 as well and had the same issue. As soon as it gets darker my video recording FPS drops down to less than 10 fps. Switching the lights on does not help much, the camera "needs" the the sunlight to work properly.

I use Dell Inspiron laptop and under Windows environment this option works like a charm, so I guess this is not the issue of my camera. I tried guvcview, v4l2 but none of them has the option to disable the auto exposure. Does anyone know any way to do this?
