I have a server with a Nvidia card (gtx 680) to which I access remotely through VNC (vnc4server). For some graphical applications, I get the following error:

Xlib: extension "NV-GLX" missing on display "XXX"."

since I use CUDA 5.0 for development, I started with the NVIDIA drivers in the CUDA 5.0 bundle. I have also tried installing the drivers from ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates . I have tried purging my server from nvidia packages and reinstalling. I haven't been able to find a solution that works.

What else could I try? Has anyone else solved this problem before?
