Hello everyone I am Windows 8 user, sorry if my speech are poor or understandable, I'm from Russia. So..Yesterday I install my first Ubuntu 13.04 for a chance and I get 3 problem at once!
First: my laptop (HP dv7-7004: core i7-2670QM, nVidia GeForce GT 630M) is constantly heating...I reading that problem in nVidia drivers and internal CPU graphics, so I tried to install nVidia drivers from "Additional drivers" service, but get GUI crash, so I was forced to reinstall Ubuntu.
Second: My broadcom BCM4313 chip doesn't turn on, I try to install different drivers but problem wasn't solved(( Half day I spend to this(. I notice that all advices when it comes drivers, internet connections tutorials are very difficult to understand (terminal, terminal, sudo, sudo, code, code....my head boils!)
3rd: Because of my WiFi still disabled I was forced to connecting by ethernet(VPN), but my internet provider support only vpn l2tp type. Futher I knew that Ubuntu doesn't support l2tp type of vpn connection. I tried to install external Network Manager plug-in for l2tp connection(https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+question/228515), but my effort was ineffectually again.
Well...to make a long story short: I can't connect to internet, my laptop is warm and I don't know how to solve these problems. So..help me guys!
Unfortunately, I have no way to install bumblebee order to test GPU card switching, because it have big size (~160Mb) for my mobile internet(our providers limit mobile internet traffic)
