What would cause sound not to reinitialize after suspending Ubuntu 12.04?
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 on a T420 laptop and I have an occasional but very annoying problem with sound.
I frequently suspend the laptop and occasionally after it wakes up, there is no more sound. All the mixer settings are still working and set to correct levels, applications start playback, but no actual sound comes out.
I have tried restarting pulseaudio, but it does nothing. The only way I have of fixing the problem is to restart the laptop, which is very disruptive, since it take a long time to open up all the apps again.
