I am trying to install Ubuntu in Oracle virtualbox on a windows 64 bit host.

I get a message that I am using a i686 CPU (32 bits), where kernel requires an x86-64CPU.

My computer settings is exactly x86-64 CPU, so why does the boot menu claim I am using i686?

The version I am trying to install is Ubuntu latest features,Ubuntu 13.04, 64 bits.

Can you add the precise error message? Also check the settings of virtual box to confirm that vbox is set to a 64 bit CPU. –  Hennes May 14 '13 at 15:57
