I wish to use my Ubuntu 12.04 desktop as cloud platform. In which, I want to build MySQL RDS and run application on top of it. Is it possible that I can construct cloud on my Ubuntu desktop and run application on top of it ? how ?

Basically, I will try to build cloud software on the new address space on the my Ubunut desktop, laptop. Then, I will install MySQL, for RDS, on it. Afterwards, I will try to run application on it. Meanwhile, I want to connect from my other desktop to update the databases. If I only knows the ip address of the MySQL, I can connect and update the database.

OPTIONAL: If it is possible, I want to connect to the cloud via web browser and play around the run application.
