Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Recently I set up Ubuntu on my notebook (with an encrypted home partition) and had the glorious idea of enabling syspend-to-disk and suspend-to-ram, so i installed the package 'hibernate'. Now I wanted to boot and got the error could not stat the resume device file and that I should enter a path or press enter to boot. Unfortunately I the system doesn't accept any input and leaves me unable start Ubuntu. The same in recovery-mode. I have a KNOPPIX live-cd, some mint live-cds and some others at hand, but no Ubuntu one.
