Ubuntu 11.04 is getting a very nice and clean desktop but why doesn't get Nautilus a cleanup?

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

There is Nautilus-elementary.

"Nautilus Elementary is a mod that compacts and streamlines Nautilus in GNOME to make file browsing easier."

There is a thread discussing Nautilus-elementary and the lack of changes to Nautilus in Gnome3, and whether any are necessary, on the Ubuntu Forums.

To install Nautilus-Elementary:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:am-monkeyd/nautilus-elementary-ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
nautilus -q

nautilus-elementary is no longer being developed. – RolandiXor Mar 7 '11 at 0:24
@roland-taylor nautilus-elementary has been revived. – duanedesign Apr 25 '11 at 0:45

They have probalby forgotten about it, or it will be cleaned up in nearest future. Remember, natty is still BETA. And if you have some ideas about cleaning up the UI, share them with the developers.

Natty is still alpha not beta. – Octavian Damiean Mar 6 '11 at 20:08
True. So it's even worse. – Rafał Cieślak Mar 8 '11 at 18:25
