When trying to update through sudo apt-get update I am getting these errors: I am kinda new to Ubuntu so any help would be appreciated :)

W: Failed to fetch 404 Not Found

W: Failed to fetch 404 Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

You have enabled the partner repository, however clearly the above two links doesn't make any sense, since surely Quantal (12.10) can't match with Precise (12.04).

You need to change your /etc/apt/sources.list/. For example, if you are using gedit, type gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list Then, change the "precise" wordings in the above link to "quantal" (without the quotes). Save the file and run sudo apt-get update again. It should work.

I did that but now the problem is that this is being shown on Terminal: E: Malformed line 3 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse) E: The list of sources could not be read. – Salihu May 5 '13 at 23:14
@Salihu can you post your /etc/apt/sources.list in the question? Thanks. – smartboyhw May 6 '13 at 7:28
