I'm creating a GUI for a pre-existing cli program. There are a few functions that the cli program doesn't have build in, so I wrote custom C programs (since the libraries I needed were written in C). I call those custom C programs from my quickly app using the subprocess module.

In packaging my app I would like to create a ~/.app_name folder and save the custom C helper programs there. The command "quickly package" creates maintainer scripts as part of creating the ".deb", but is there any way to modify the maintainer scripts using quickly to add custom code?
