I have a wireless adapter, a D-Link DWA-160, and it's really bad.
It gets really hot whenever I'm booted into Linux, and crashes literally once a minute or more during Torrenting, even with reduced bandwidth (64 KBps.)
I know the adapter is lame, and I know I need to replace it, but what should I do until then? I've already upgraded the carl9170 to the latest version, but that didn't fix the problem, it just mitigated it. Slightly.
So to summarize, what do I need to do to get this adapter as stable and as fast as it is when I'm booted into Windows? I've already tried disabling n speed, but that just made it not connect (our router is set to
802.11b&802.11g&802.11n, but I've already tried adjusting those settings, to no avail.)
