I'm having a problem launching Ubuntu.

So I'm currently dual booting Ubuntu and Windows, and when I launch Ubuntu, the screen goes dead (not black, dead). This problem started recently, for no apparent reason. Windows boots with no problems.

I'm on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430 is that's any use.

I have tried the Boot-Repair tool, and used the recommended repair, but that did nothing (gave me this). I've also updated the BIOS, to no avail.

I'm not sure what to try next, and any help would be really appreciated.

What happens if you boot in "recovery mode"? –  Salem May 2 '13 at 19:57

I would scan the system RAM using MemTest86 . Also, video card RAM could also be a possibility. –  djangofan May 2 '13 at 20:50
