Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I download two versions of ubuntu 13.04 (i386 and amd64) and I burn it on two dvd. With the first one I can't boot with the dvd, the bios doesn't show the option of boot in the cd. With the second one, I can boot with the dvd, but when the black windows appears, I can chose 4 options (Install, run, install as manufacturer or check cd) but if I chose any option then nothing happens (I wait some minutes and the cd doesn't spin).

What can I do?

PD: Sorry for my english.

This computer come preinstalled with Windows 8 (I would keep the partition with Windows 8 if it's possible).

The two isos that I download are ubuntu-13.04-desktop-i386.iso and ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.

What ISO's did you download, and where from? –  Mitch May 1 '13 at 16:12
When you select an option, does the disc in the drive spin, and have you tried waiting? –  William May 1 '13 at 16:17
