I will be upgrading a production server from 12.10 to 13.04 from the terminal. I encountered issues upgrading my notebook which resulted in uninstalling PostgreSQL 9.2 (full details here). This removed the database as well (obviously), which is not acceptable for our production server.

The error message during upgrading stated that

The package 'postgresql-9.2' is marked for removal but it is in the removal blacklist.

When performing the upgrade to 13.04 from the server's terminal are there options available to prevent removing certain packages?

I want it to proceed with the upgrade and just leave that package installed.
