Okay, so I recently installed the "Ultimate Gnome Experience" package from http://www.webupd8.org/2012/10/how-to-get-complete-gnome-3-desktop-in.html on my Ubuntu 12.10 laptop. I was exploring the new and old (classic) gnome interfaces, when I accidentally deleted the main menu bar in Gnome Classic (with effects). After following many tutorials, I couldn't retrieve the original bar. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the ultimate package. The most I could get was a menu bar without a notification area by using 'sudo gnome-panel'. However, most recently when I tried logging in to gnome classic, it looks just like Unity except for the classic window switcher at the bottom. The main taskbar wasn't changed and I still had the Unity launcher to the left, overlapping everything. However, Gnome Classic (without effects) works perfectly. This problem is driving me crazy!! Please help! Thanks in advance.
