Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've installed Ubuntu 13.04 yesterday on my system. I used Ubuntu 12.04 LTS before but it was corrupted when my laptop went on Windows and performed a chkdsk.

Before it was on a wubi installation, and it seems that there's no need of mounting since it's running alongside Windows. But now that I'm using a live installation (from a PENDRIVE), I cannot mount it nor see where the other partition went.

I would really appreciate immediate help from you guys. It's just that I need the files from the other partition. (On Windows I have partition C:\ D:\ E:\, I'm getting E:).

I tried doing what was said there, yet there's no changes at all. –  Vineen Malig Manarang Apr 28 '13 at 7:26
