I have tried the install numerous times but it always has a apt error when it finishes checking the CD-ROM. Sorry, I forgot what the full name is.

Try with USB, instead of DVD. (I assume you meant DVD, as CD-ROM will not fit 13.04 install anyway.) –  david6 Apr 27 '13 at 21:07

I have many friends that have trouble updating or installing Ubuntu, that's why I wrote a guide about easily updating Ubuntu to 13.04. You can find it by clicking on the link below: maknesium.de/… I hope this was helpfull. Feedback greeted ;) –  user153062 Apr 27 '13 at 22:58

Run the option on the boot menu labeled something like check disk media for defects, you may have a bad disk, burn them on low speeds

Sorry I am late, here it is.An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the CD failed. –  Elian Apr 28 '13 at 21:16

open software sources in the other software tab uncheck the CD boxes, should be the 1st 2 –  GM-Script-Writer-62850 Apr 28 '13 at 21:20

Sorry, that didn't work. Luckily I found another one, the command is this (Sorry if that is basically what you just said): sudo rm /usr/lib/ubiquity/apt-setup/generators/40cdrom –  Elian Apr 29 '13 at 0:26
