The spacebar on my Toshiba Satellite laptop no longer works. I have confirmed this with all applications, Windows Vista OS, and the bootup menus - it is a hardware mechanical issue.
In Windows, I managed to get a work about through Microsoft's own Keyboard mapping software, where by I assigned an extra \ (mine is English/French Keyboard) to read space. So it works.
Is there a way I can do something similar in Ubuntu, instead of copy pasting space character every time I need to input space. Perhaps assigning the WIN key for space or Alt/Gr key for space since they appear quite close to the spacebar.
Thanks in advance
