I recently started using Ubuntu 12.10. I was trying to install drivers for a printer I just obtained and I wanted my laptop to look like it was suspended, so I set the
When lid is closed option to
The previous night I tried to install the drivers and it wanted my authentication password. I typed it as I had always done, but it kept telling me the password was wrong, so I disabled the password on my account (The system admin account) and then I gave up after an hour of waiting for the drivers that did nothing.
That's not my problem, the problem is that now my authenticator password is messed up. I tried to re-set the password of my admin account, but it doesn't let me, the
Change button is grayed out, and I tried to
Unlock to make changes, but that needs my authenticator password.
Is there a way to disable that password without needing it? I think someone hacked my system because it wasn't locked with the password that day.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
