After installing Ubuntu everything seems to be just fine.

I plugged in my wireless Logitech mouse and my wireless Microsoft keyboard and they worked just perfectly.

After shutting down the laptop and removing the wireless dongles from the USB ports upon rebooting Ubuntu no longer recognizes the onboard keyboard and on board touch pad. This forces me to plugin the wireless mouse and keyboard to use the machine.

Is there as way to force Ubuntu to use the on board keyboard and on board touchpad? Is there a removal procedure for the wireless devices plugged in via USB?

What am I doing wrong?

Both stopped working on me to with the SAME Toshiba, and ubuntu 13.04 –  Brian Petro May 2 '13 at 23:51
I have Toshiba C50D - A series. I encounter same problem in that the onboard keyboard and onboard mouse sometimes stop working. Also to enter- I need to click the onboard key - double tap does not work. –  Luhein Apr 4 at 10:54
