In total, I think wasted 6-8 hours trying to make the ClickPad work properly. Goals: *Get fully recognized by Ubuntu *Two finger scrolling/Side panel scrolling *Change sensitivity (not accel/threshold, but sensitivity) doing it in settings doesn't affect anything. Info: *HP DV6 31250EJ *Synaptics ClickPad (TouchPad + 2 physical buttons on it)
xinput : PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad
*Going into settings and pointing device doesn't show TouchPad tab. *Installing gpointing is useless (changes do not apply + GUI options extremely limited comparing to the screenshoots and description)
cat /var/log/syslog | grep synaptics cat /var/log/syslog | grep synclient cat /var/log/syslog | grep TouchPad [24.529432] input: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input13 synclient Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded? apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-input-synaptics xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: Installed: 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2
*someone recommended using xorg-edgers - apparently I was already using it, so I removed it - didn't help... (using ppa-purge + restart).
*Tracking works (moving the pointer)
*Double tapping works.
*Left and right buttons work.
*The pointer movement is terrible
xset m x z - whatever combo I tried was bad.
xinput set-prop - the same... (Both didn't allow me to change actual sensitivity.
Where do I go from here? By the way, I AM BEGGING YOU to help me, I don't 'need' to solve this, I NEED to solve this...
