please help me in installing ndiswrapper-1.58. Currently i am on uBuntu 12.10 and trying to install TRENDnet Wireless N PCI Adapter (TEW-643PI) into my computer.

Therein lies the problem as i am a newbie in linux and a complete blonde. My best friend, Google.com shows lots of installation guide for ndiswrapper-1.57, which i've found, after some reading, involves "bug"-gy experience of some sort.

Although I also found one guide (copied below) , with the following link: How do I compile ndiswrapper?

1) Download the file to your desktop here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ndiswrapper/files/

2) Drag and drop the file to your desktop and right-click it and select 'Extract Here.'

3) Open a terminal and, with a temporary ethernet connection, do:

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic build-essential
cd Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.58rc1 <--I'M STILL RIGHT HERE!! :(
sudo su
make
make install
modprobe ndiswrapper
exit

4) Packages compiled from source need to be re-compiled when a newer kernel version is installed by Update Manager:

cd Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.58rc1
sudo su
make clean
make
make install
modprobe ndiswrapper
exit

And now i'm stuck with this problem:

cd /Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.58

bash: cd: /Desktop/ndiswrapper-1.58: No such file or directory

How can there be no dir when i've successfully extracted the very same folder to my desktop. Please help! And if you guys have any other guide that i can follow, please let me know, or just email me at: jackpr_falee@hotmail.com
