After investigation it is observed that installing a package using opkg from a secondary hard disk in virtualbox is corrupting the file system and hence network configuration stopped working. I am not sure why installing from secondary hard disk is causing the issue. Can someone help me in identifying the cause for the issue –  user150225 Apr 22 '13 at 10:33
