I am trying to run CUDA 5.0 in ubunut 12.04 LTS. To do this I have to use newer NVIDIA drivers in order to run the CUDA toolkits. After I installed the NVIDIA drivers I cannot access consoles. I am in a predicament now because I need the consoles so that I can disable the GUI interface in order to run the CUDA code I need (if I try running without having the GUI disabled, I get an error about the GPU being connected to a display and limiting the kernel run time resulting in a failure). All ways to fix this problem have been to use different drivers which would then result in me not being able to use CUDA code.
I need to be able to access the consoles to be able to run the code (MC-GPU) without having the graphics enabled and I am currently stuck.
