I have a Dell Vostro with a damaged UBUNTU that doesn't load at all, I wan to do a fresh installation of it, either via USB stick or via CD, but the other computer that I have is a Mac and I am having difficulty using the isntruction provided.

I've tried burning the .iso file in a DVD and then booting the Dell system but the load screen for ubuntu comes up and keeps processing (i've tried leaving it for couple of hours) and nothing happens.

Can someone please assist me in what I'm doing wrong

I've seen a similar question here, but it is also unanswered Why won't Ubuntu 8.10 start up on my Dell Vostro 1050?

Did you run a md5 check sum to make sure the download is error free? –  wlraider70 Apr 13 '13 at 11:47
