Im reluctant to answer a question with so many duplicates, but have you tried the ubuntu software centre? simply search for Wine, and click 'install'. Alternatively, look for an application called play on linux and install that instead. This is wine with optimised configurations for a number of applications. –  richzilla Feb 24 '11 at 14:43

Search for Wine in the software center or run sudo apt-get install wine in the terminal

The easiest and safest way is to open the "ubuntu software center" and search for "wine". You will find a lot of the basic software (flash, java Google Chrome etc.) in there. Just click at the ubuntu logo in the right upper corner, go to the bottom and click at "ubuntu software center".
