I'm trying to use bluez-5.3 to connect a Bluetooth speaker which is compatible with bluez-4.x. But, the connection failed and "Unable to select SEP" appears in /var/log/syslog.

Here is my environment

  • Linux dendrobium-MS-7758 3.5.0-17-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 9 19:31:23 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I removed the built-in bluez-4.x in Ubuntu 12.10. Then I built and installed the bluez-5.3 from the tarball in http://www.bluez.org/release-of-bluez-5-3/ . After pairing with my Bluetooth speaker, I used the test-device in bluez-5.3/test to connect audio sink profile by entering

./test-device connect 00:02:5B:00:FF:04 0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb

Note that 0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb is the UUID of audio sink profile. But the connection is failed and I got following error in syslog

bluetoothd[5137]: Unable to select SEP

Does anyone encountered this problem before? How can I fix it? Thank you.
