I'm trying to access a drive connected to my Windows Vista machine, from this Ubuntu machine. How can I accomplish this? I have tried all kinds of things found on google but nothing works.

I can see my WORKGROUP under Windows Network, but when I try to connect I get the error "Unable to Mount Location, Failed to retrieve share list from server"

Could you elaborate on "tried all kinds of things"? –  Scott Goodgame Apr 1 '13 at 5:21

Sure, adding a user, Installing the samba. I am a very new Ubuntu/Linux user. Love it so far but need to be able to hit those shared drives in my home. –  user145898 Apr 1 '13 at 5:29

OK then.. Did you share the drive on vista and browse through the network? -- Stick with me and we as a community can help you. –  Scott Goodgame Apr 1 '13 at 23:09
