Today after I opened Ubuntu 12.10, there was no wired connection option only VPN, enable networking and configure networking.
When I went to network it showed wired connection unplugged, but the connection is working properly on windows.
lspci | grep "Network"= 0c:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)

see above inet addr is not given so when i went to network through setting i found it said wired cable unplugged and ipv4 (etc.) were not filled while i had entered them in configurations so i clicked options but even that did not open p.s. my external mouse has also stopped working on ubuntu
