I'm having the following problem:
I am trying to do a netboot from a ubuntu 12.04.2 amd64 iso image, that i have customized using ubuntu-builder. I want to have an image, that is specialized for my network environment with LDAP, Kerberos, AFS and after every reboot the system should be the same again, so no change during a session will have any affects on later sessions. So I configurated all config files (LDAP, Kerberos etc.) as they have to be.
When I boot the Computer, it loads the Kernel and the initrd file from the tftp server. During the boot I get the following output:
Warning: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory warnings.warn(msg.args.encode('UTF-8'))
Apart from that everything seems fine. Further booting ends at the following point:
Begin: Running /scripts/init-bottom ... done.
After that nothing happens for a few minutes. After a while the boot continues with some messages (for example, that AFS doesnt work) and I get dropped to the Unity Desktop as the Live Session User 'ubuntu'. Of course I want to get to the login screen to login as a real user.
In the pxelinux.cfg file I put the following:
APPEND: boot=casper netboot=nfs nfsroot=<tftpserver>:/tftpboot/ubuntu-12.04.2-amd64 afs cell=<my-afs-cell> automount initrd=initrd.igm.ubuntu-12.04.2-amd64.lz.cip-15 ramdisk_size=100000
Did I eventually miss something here? Has any body had an equal problem? Or are there other possibilities to get a customized netboot image than using ubuntu-builder or remastersys?
Very lot thanks in advance! Dave
