I'm going to school for IT and computer engineering, I love Ubuntu and I love the IDE Pelles C but I can't seam to find an IDE that will do all that Pelles C does. Now I realize that I may need to piece some stuff together but if someone would point me in the direction of a guide to piece what I need together to make it work or even send me a guide even if it is just terminal commands I would be more than grateful I'm trying to unteather myself from windows and don't want to go the OSX route either.

In Linux/Unix the compilation and other tools tend to be separate from the IDE. First in a terminal run sudo apt-get install build-essential this will install the compiler gcc and some other useful tools. Now for the IDE I use eclipse but there are others such as Geany and Code::Blocks; take a look in the software centre. Also what in particular about Pelles do you want. I don't use it so don't know how it compares with Eclipse for example. –  Warren Hill Mar 21 '13 at 15:41

Pelles C works if you install WINE/Play On Linux. As of 4.50 it should have a platinum rating. –  Rinzwind Mar 21 '13 at 15:43

Check out CodeBlocks. –  Lucio Dec 16 at 2:39
