I have two seperate hddsinstalled c: 160gb hold winxp sp3 and D: 500GB ntfs storage I downloaded ubuntu 12.4 and installed it using the supplied win installe on D: drive, in my thinking there should be plenty of space but I seem to limited to 17gb when I try to update ubuntu I get a message there isnt enough space when I check system details I have 460gb , it seems to be the file system which is full,
Q is this usual?
Q why does the default setting limit me to 17gb for file system
Q if I reinstall ubuntu 12.4 what steps should I take to increase file system space for ubuntu?
I am keen to learn although I have used computers for 26 yrs and know a bit about windows I dont understand how ubuntu file system works thanks for your help
