Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've tried installing official web-site version, but it didn't install.

Then I read throught some manuals and now I have partner section in Software Center > Software Sources, made update-softwarecenter and I have ... partner section uncommented in my sources.list and made apt-get clean && apt-get update few times.

Now I have no Skype in software center and apt-get install skype says to me that skype dependes on skype-bin and I have held packages. (apt-get install -f says everything is fine and does nothing).

I'd be greatful for the help.

Thank you.

It appeared in Software center after a while. But now it say's

"skype: Depends: skype-bin is not a virtual package" or something like that.

Oh (
