.... on my 11.04 VPS with a basic Ubuntu installation. Another server (physical) with 12.04 does not display this issue. The software versions of bind9 & rrdtool are slightly different.
Both servers have Bindgraph Version: 0.2a-5.1 -
[This howto] was followed to the letter. Checking both machines, permissions appear to be identical.
On the broken box, bindgraph is actually creating the png images, but there's nothing ever showing up in the graphs. It's creating an rrd file as well. rndc shows query log is on, and I can tail the log file I have specified (identical to the howto below) and see queries coming in. I can watch it with dnstop too. The timestamps on the png images are updating as well, and so is the timestamp on the rrd file itself. It's just happily moving on, but showing me nothing but "-nan."
rrdtool seems to be functioning properly. I can at least do a dump of the rrd file.
Both machines have /etc/default/bindgraph the same:
bindgraph was installed from the respective apt repository. I have not tried a version from source yet. I followed the same howto on two different machines, and on one it's working, but not the other.
What else can I be looking at? bindgraph has been around for a long time and it's supposed to be a fairly straightforward tool. This is the first time that I've run into any issues with it. I'm pretty much stumped at this point.
