Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've been working with Linux for a bit and have just recently tried Ubuntu 12 and I prefer 11.

But, when I went to install 11 again, I screwed up and deleted the partition with Ubuntu and have now lost my boot manager.

I cant set my boot manager in my BIOS. I did install Ubuntu alongside windows. I keep getting the grub rescue line and I don't have a live disk anymore. I tried USB booting Mint. And I can't boot it for some reason. All I want is to get back to my windows.

Any suggestions?
