I am not getting the video performance out of my new laptop with Ubuntu as I did with my old Laptop. My new on is a DV6-6B47DX and uses AMD A8-3510MX APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics × 4

On HP's site the Windows video driver is AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center. I loaded the Catalist Control Center from the Ubuntu Software Center but is will not work and displays a message stating that a compatible driver is not installed.

Did you try using the additional drivers tool? :P (I think the additional drivers tool is jockey) –  Thomas W. Mar 16 '13 at 1:22
the addition drivers tools found a driver but it fails to load. Here is the jockey.log segment I clipped parts to fit here: 2013-03-16 11:21:30,908 WARNING: modinfo for module fglrx failed: ERROR: modinfo: could not find module fglrx 2013-03-16 11:23:19,195 WARNING: /sys/module/fglrx_updates/drivers does not exist, cannot rebind fglrx_updates driver –  Cayzar Mar 16 '13 at 16:56
