I've been using a manually-installed driver for my NVidia card (I'm doing CUDA development) and I'd like to ditch nvidia-common, but that means that the package manager wants to uninstall ubuntu-desktop.
Does anyone have a good suggestion for a non-nvidia-common fallback driver (would xserver-xorg-video-all work, for example, or is there one super-generic driver?) or as a last resort, a way to fake the xorg-driver-video requirement? Thanks.
