I have a strange issue with running ubuntu 12.04. The sound driver seems to not load immediately when I boot into Ubuntu, or when my laptop wakes from sleep mode. After several minutes, Ubuntu will recognize my sound driver and sound will work again. Is there any way to fix this so that it doesn't have this latency with my sound driver. Everything else, including wifi and bluetooth work immediately, but it takes 12.04 a few minutes to load my sound driver..

You need to tell us more about your system, especially the soundcard you use? Is it an onboard sound chip? Which board? Some of them can be quite problematic and cause issues with power management, which could show symptoms similar to the ones you described. –  LiveWireBT Mar 11 '13 at 5:46

Yes it is an on board sound chip. I am also running jupiter in power saving mode but I don't think it would be causing this. I'm running an HP envy 15 with Beats Audio. –  user139398 Mar 11 '13 at 12:55
