I have ubuntu installed alongside with my Windows 7. When I choose to boot with ubuntu I get to the purple loading screen as I should but when it seems like it is finished loading the screen goes black and after a while a strange marimba like sound comes through the speakers. After that I can't do a thing. I've tried both 12.10 and 12.04 in both Swedish and English.
A point worth noting is that my battery seems to be broken, the diode indicating power status is shifting back and forth from orange to white. My theory is that Ubuntu goes into sleep mode because of the battery shortage, that seems kinda strange however since the laptop is plugged in at all times and my Windows is running smoothly.
