Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Despite the good internet connections I have used in trying to install packages with the famous sudo apt-get install package-name , it is not possible. Whenever I download any file form the network, the file gets downloaded to my computer without any problem. The same problem occurs when I use the User Interface software library given to Ubuntu to assist users in software installation. I'm looking forward to reading from any answer from anybody concerning this matter.

"apt-get install" both downloads and installs the software automatically. Any problems will be reported with error messages. What's the actual problem/error message you're encountering? –  IlluminAce Mar 9 '13 at 19:13

What "exact problem" occurs when you try to download a file via the GUI software or via command line? –  neo1691 Mar 9 '13 at 19:26
